Things we love about autumn

by Matthew Worthington - 1st September 22

The first day of September naturally gets us all thinking about autumn 🍂 Although, it feels like the season that brings with it Halloween and pumpkin spiced lattes has been with us for a few weeks now!

A short walk around The Village and signs of autumn are easy to spot. The Woodland Trail’s autumn display is in full swing; leaves and even a scattering of conkers cover the ground!

Yes, we’ll be sad to see the back of summer, but whether you’re visiting us for the day or enjoying a fun-filled break, autumn is a great time to be at Ribby Hall Village! Here are 5 things we love most about autumn…

1. Woodland Walks

Those beautiful shades of red, golden yellow and orange fill the Woodland Trail and make for the perfect backdrop to any walk or cycle at this time of year. Children are kept entertained as they hunt for conkers and pine cones and race through all the fallen leaves. It’s a wonderful time to explore the great outdoors!

2. Hot Drinks & Tasty Treats

Feeling autumnal yet? Autumn means the return of our favourite hot drinks and sweet treats. Pumpkin Spice is back on the menu at Blend! Add a little pumpkin spice to your latte, cappuccino or frappuccino and why not pair it with a delicious Ginger & Pumpkin Loaf.

3. Halloween

Our spooky season begins 7th October and it promises to be a frightfully fun few weeks, with spellbinding activities and entertainment, including an all new Trick or Treat experience! Everyone is invited to take part in this quest to find our Halloween friends. Beware of the ghosts and ghouls you’ll encounter along the way! Our Trick or Treat events book up fast so, if you dare, make sure you grab your tickets in good time.

4. Illuminations

Nearby Blackpool shines bright in autumn! We love the Illuminations and this year sees the world-famous light show return for another extended run (2nd September – 2nd January). If that wasn’t enough, Blackpool’s Lightpool Festival is back during October half term with a dazzling programme of 3D projection shows, art trails and unique light installations.

5. Winter Wonderland is around the corner!

Yes, another reason we love autumn is that it means Christmas is just around the corner. The magic here at Ribby begins on Friday 11th November, where thousands of lights, Santa and his team of Elves transform The Village into a Winter Wonderland. Climb the steps to the treehouse to meet the big man himself, enjoy delicious festive dining with the family and plenty of enchanting entertainment. Our recent blog post has all the details!
