Frost covered landscapes that glisten in the morning sun as dawn breaks. Dark romantic evenings that glow...

During the second national lockdown in November, where again we were forced to close our self-catering accommodation and many other facilities, members of our Accommodation Team began a mission to donate gifts to local children in time for Christmas.
Working with local social workers in Blackpool, Angela Cartmell, Jeanette Jemson and Jessica Isherwood, organised the collection of gifts that would be donated to vulnerable children in the local area aged between 0-17 years.
“We decided against doing secret Santa in the office this year as we wouldn’t have all been able to get together as we normally do. Instead, we wanted to do something to support local children who have been impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic” said Jess Isherwood, Guest Experience Assistant.
“We only imagined we’d maybe get around 30 people to donate gifts but the support from everyone was incredible. Members of staff from across The Village got involved and bought so many lovely gifts.”
Thanks to the hard work and kindness from all involved, over 180 gifts were packed up and will be delivered to children across Blackpool and the surrounding areas in time for Christmas Day!
